How the money works
Each epoch, the operator takes a fixed fee and a margin from the pool's rewards, and delegators share the rest. Donations come out of the operator's share, never out of delegators' rewards.
- Fixed fee
- 170 ADA per epoch, the network minimum, until the pool passes 10 million ADA delegated. Then 340 ADA. A flat fee takes a bigger share of rewards when a pool is small, so it starts at the minimum.
- Margin
- 5% of the rewards left after the fixed fee, from the start.
- Donated
- 50% of the operator margin. With a 5% margin, that is 2.5% of the pool's rewards after the fixed fee.
Any pool can change its fee and margin at any time. This schedule was published before the pool had any delegators, and any change will be announced here at least two epochs before it takes effect. The fee only goes up once delegated stake actually passes 10 million ADA. Stake figures are public, so you can check.
Who qualifies
Registered charitable nonprofits (501(c)(3) in the US, or the local equivalent elsewhere) whose main work is direct services that remove barriers for people.
Never eligible: political candidates, campaigns, parties or officeholders; PACs; lobbying organizations and groups whose main activity is political advocacy; ballot-measure committees.
How recipients are chosen
- A shortlist of vetted organizations is published here, with the criteria used to pick them.
- Delegators vote, weighted by stake.
- The results and the amount sent are published here.
Voting happens once a year at first, then quarterly once the amounts are big enough. If too few delegators vote, the money goes to a default recipient.

Every donation is recorded on-chain as transaction metadata tied to this pool's ID, so you can check it yourself.
